Interview with Professor Ricardo Beiras, commenting on a recently published article entitled "High concentrations of plastic hidden beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean"

"In a week there have been important scientific studies on plastic that point in the same direction. Wherever you look, there it is: plastic appears even in places where the scientific community did not expect to find it. One of the investigations published in the journal Nature Communications has discovered that the Atlantic contains much more plastic than was thought after examining the seabed. "Or what was done or agora in oceanography was to look for microplastics in the surface layers, but these researchers explored the depths and found that the pollution density is lower, but higher", recognizes Ricardo Beiras, researcher of marine pollution in the University of Vigo."
